Friday Night Extra 26.6.15 with guest Garry Smith

It was great to walk into the studio and see Elliott Smith, back for one Friday night. On the show I was joined by Garry Smith. For the past eighteen months he has been working for the Salvation Army Trading Company as project manager for their shop at the O2 where the Salvation Army are holding their 150th anniversary celebrations this coming week. There will be representatives from 126 countries present and Garry told us to look out for people in various uniforms on the tube from Tuesday. Garry spoke about the heritage of Christian social action projects that the Salvation Army has been involved with since its inception. The founding principles have then been adapted in different contexts to provide projects around the world. Boundless 2015 begins on Tuesday and runs through until Sunday, ending with a large march down The Mall. Most of the music events are already sold out. More info is available at https://boundless2015.org/

Gary also chose three very interesting tracks. The CD by Charlie Green can be bought from https://www.sps-shop.com/i-will-sing-praise-charlie-green-7293-p.asp
transmission Cd from also www.sps-shop.com/cd-majestic-transmission-10343-p.asp
O Boundless Salvation single also from www.sps-shop.com/o-boundless-salvation-enhanced-single-10320-p.asp or downloaded from ITunes. Gary also told us how the amazing video to go with the song was produced, featuring salvationists from around the world.Other products relating to Boundless are at https://www.sps.shop.com/boundless-176-c.asp

We had a lot of contacts from listeners tonight and many requests.
We also heard about a Russian Bishop going nearly a mile high in a hot air balloon and blessing the local town with the 35 pints of holy water he took with him. There was also the Norfolk churches where a project to photograph medieval walls inside churches with very strong lamps and digital cameras has uncovered medieval selfies covered with limewash.
