Foo Fighter can’t Walk
Florence and the Machine was set to play on the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night as a support for The Foo Fighters but have now replaced the rock bands headlining spot. The act change comes after lead singer Dave Grohl fractured his leg at a recent gig in Sweden by falling off the stage. Although he carried on with that concert after going to the hospital, his doctors have told him he cannot perform for a while so he has had to cancel the band’s upcoming performances including Glastonbury!
Therefore the first person who was thought of to replace the headline spot was Florance and he machine, as organiser Emily Eavis explains saying “Every time [Florence Welch] has played here she has done something spectacular, and we always knew she would headline the Pyramid stage one day. I’m delighted she is going to step up to it – she’s going to smash it!”
