With lead singer of Bastille, Dan Smith,  revealing some details on their upcoming second album during a recent interview (which can be listened back to via this link: https://bit.ly/1GBfHVW ) tonight’s show took a look at what other anticipated albums are due to come out this year.

Years and Years – Communication

years and yearsEveryone has been loving King by Years and Years, reaching number 1 and being in the top 10 for 7 weeks – and it is still there now! Well there’s more tracks on the way as their debut album Communication is out on the 22nd June.  Still got a while to wait but it will be worth it! The band already revealed the album artwork on Instagram last month and taking 5 hours to spell out, letter by letter the album’s title it has got fans excited.

Rixton – Let The Road

rixtonRixton will be releasing their debut album Let the Road on the 8th of June, which is 3 months later than planned as they were going to release it in March. But due to supporting Ariana Grande on her ‘Honeymoon Tour’ in the US they had to push it back.
They are also supporting Ed Sheeran in June and July and Ed has written a track for the boys called Hotel Ceiling which will feature on their debut album. They have already had two tracks released as singles including Wait On Me and Me and my Broken Heart.

Mika – No Place in Heaven

mikaTaking two years to craft, this year Mika is back with his fourth album with a release date of 15th June.
He has done very well in his music career considering he achieved a multi-million selling worldwide debut called Life in Cartoon Motion – and that was  his first ever album! No Place in Heaven will have 11 standard tracks and 3 bonus ones.  If you digitally pre-order the album you will get an instant downloads of the lead single called Talk About You and another track Last Party.

Brandon Flowers – The Desired Effect

brandon flowersBrandon Flowers released a solo album back in 2010 called Flowers and he is now planning on doing a follow up album this year called The Desired Effect. But Killers fans don’t worry he has no plans to leave the band!
Working alongside Ariel Rechtshaid, a producer who has teamed up with Haim and Vampire Weekend, Brandon has been praising him and saying  Rechtshaid is pushing him out of his comfort zone to produce this next album, so we could expect something a bit different to his last album.
And we don’t have long before we will be hearing these new sounds as the album will be out on 18th May.

Jason Derulo – Everything is 4

jason deruloJason Derulo is releasing his 4th album, as you might guess by the name, Everything is 4, on the 1st June.
He has released audio to a song Get Ugly’online and has already had air play on the lead single Want You To Want Me. His last album Tattoo’s did really well peaking at number 5 in the album charts and producing hits such as Talk Dirty which got to number 1 and top 10 hits The Other Side, Trumpets and Wiggle.

Andreya Triana – Giants

andreyaYou might recognize her voice from Breach’s track We Had It All, but following her first album entitled Lost Where I belong and collaborating with producers Mr Scruff and Flying Lotus, who remixed her track also called Lost Where I Belong’, Andreya’s second album is now set to be released on 4th May and includes her single Gold.

Alesso – Forever

alessoWith songs in the charts since 2012, Swedish DJ and electronic dance music producer, Alesso is planning on releasing his debut album entitled Forever’ on 25th May.
It will include Tear Up The Roof which was released in 2014, lead single and top ten current hit Heroes’ featuring Tove Lo, the second official release Cool featuring Roy English and his most recent track Payday.

Conor Maynard – Talking About

conor maynardThere’s not much info out there in regards to names or dates of Conor Maynard’s upcoming second album, but he has been working with some big names including Timbaland and Labrinth. His aim for this album is to mould himself into the kind of artist that he wants to be. Being only 19 when he released his debut album Contrast and being described as the British Justin Beiber, 3 three years later, now he is 22 he wants to establish himself.
The new album will feature R U Crazy as its lead single and his most recent Talking About which he co-wrote with Craig David.

Florence and the Machine – How Big How Blue How Beautiful

florenceHow Big How Blue How Beautiful is Florence and the Machine’s 3rd  album which is out on June 2nd.
But not only is it available for digital download which is the typical and ‘normal’ thing to do these days but it is also being offered to be bought in a bundle which includes a vinyl! The How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful 7″ Limited Edition Vinyl Box Set includes an exclusive track  and is available on the Florence and The Machine website. According to Florence, How Big How Blue How Beautiful is all ‘about trying to learn how live, and how to love in the world rather than trying to escape from it’. It’s lead single What Kind of Man is currently in the top 100.

Rihanna – R8

FourFiveSeconds3 years after her last album, Rihanna is set to release another one this year – but when? We don’t know the exact date as it is is still under wraps. But we do know it will be called R8 and include her recent collaboration with Kanye West and Paul McCartney FourFive Seconds. She has been teasing us a lot with this album, not giving too much away but letting us hear snippits of some of her songs such as Kiss It Better and Higher. However lucky old Ne-yo seems to have heard more as he praised the album saying ‘The stuff I’ve heard is absolutely incredible. I can’t speak on what it sounds like because I’ll get in trouble, but I definitely feel like people are gonna enjoy it. Anybody that’s a Rihanna fan is gonna stay a Rihanna fan, and anybody that’s not might become a Rihanna fan’. Rihanna seems to be keeping a tight grip on the info for the album tweeting, quite aggressively ‘ANY news about #R8 will be delivered directly from me!!!!’ – So don’t go believing anyone else!
