It was great to be back on the air with a regular show today. I’ll be presenting One 2 Three on Wednesdays from now on. Today’s show was full of music and chat and included a new feature for Wednesdays – Reasons to be Cheerful! It’s a small corner of the show where I try to find some good positive news to cheer us up as an alternative to some of the awful news we regularly hear. Today’s main story in Reasons to be Cheerful was news of a great invention that should help millions of poor children across the world – the adjustable shoe! This comes in two sizes, each designed to last a growing child 5 years, allowing children in poverty to grow up without going barefoot.

Yesterday I lost my Broadband service for about 5 hours. I was lost without it but at least I managed to get some ironing done! I can well understand how computers can be so frustrating to people when they are not doing what they’re supposed to, but this guy in America took things too far. A man took his anger out on a slow computer by shooting it eight times. He carried the machine into an alleyway and got his revenge with a handgun. Cops said he was “fed up” after “fighting with his computer” for several months. The 37-year-old was given a ticket for using a firearm within city limits. He was “good-natured” about the ticket but didn’t realise he was breaking the law, cops added.
