April Fools!

This week saw the arrival of April, starting of course with the 1st which is also known as April Fools day. Many celebrities and journalists got into the spirit of making up stories which excited, shocked and saddened fans, just to reveal it was all a joke!

Flue
90’s boy bands Blue and 5ive were going to take a leaf out of McBusted book and join together to make another super group called Flue!
Lee Ryan, member of Blue came up with the name and it was announced the boys would be doing a special tour. 5ive’s Scott Robinson explained: “We’ve always got on well with the Blue boys and respected their music. It’ll be weird singing their tracks and ours alongside each other but exciting nonetheless.”

Louis Leaving 1D
One website wrote an article which angered One Direction fans, that another member of the group would be leaving.  They stated Louis had quit the group to become a motivational speaker. 1D Fans reacted in crazy ways to the news of Zayn’s departure so imagine how they reacted to this! But the website has cleared it all up posting “Judging by the angry messages, it seems some people didn’t realise this was an April Fools’ Day joke. So put the pitchforks away and please stop crying.”

Sam Smith is Straight
Sam Smith Tweeted that he was straight and nearly 35,000 of his followers retweeted it before only 40mins later Sam tweeted again saying ‘April Fools!’

Cheryl Joins Geordie Shore
It was a possibility that a real celebrity was going to enter Reality TV show Geordie Shore in the form of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who was said would be ‘parachuted’ into the house in Season 10 to join the Charlotte Crosby and Gary Beadle.

Ant, Dec and Anton Du Beke
Ant and Dec are an amazing presenting duo and are loved by the nation but could you imagine them becoming a trio? It was said that Strictly Come Dancing professional, Anton Du Beke would be joining them – it has a nice ring to it!

Batman
A local newspaper claimed the council was building a massive statue of Christian Bale in his Batman guise in the centre of his home town, Haverfordwest, to stop drunken revellers from committing crimes.

Trampoline Aisles
One supermarket enlisted the help of Towie star Lucy Mecklenburgh to advertise a new invention of trampoline aisles, to help reach the top shelf. Not only is that distracting but dangerous too!

A Fault in Our Stars Prequel
A a prank aimed at teenagers emerged,  that there is going to be a prequel to novel turned film, A Fault In Our Stars. An Australian publisher Tweeted a fake book cover promising this.

Cowell Replaces Queen On Cash
Simon Cowell makes a lot of money, we all know that but imagine if the money he had had his own face on it – he would love it! One news paper claimed that this was going to be the case – that he would appear on new £5 notes.  They also said David Beckham would be plastered on £20 notes and Helen Mirron would replace the Queen on all tenners.
You would think Simon would be on a higher value than a fiver! But he still liked the idea according to the paper as they quoted him saying “Having made so much money I am delighted to give something back to the country. Oh, and please handle me carefully.”
