First up tonight I was joined in the studio by Richard, Dennis and Ben from longtime Curveballs favourites Imperial Leisure. The band originally formed in the late 90s and went on to release two albums, The Art of Saying Nothing and Death to the One-Trick Pony, before establishing their current line-up in 2012 and recording their third album Lifestyle Brand which is released this coming Monday (April 6th). They’ll be marking the occasion with a headline show at The Lexington on London that day, supported by Ghouls and Sonic Boom Six. Find out more at www.imperial-leisure.co.uk. Next up I was joined by Alex, Nathalia and Isabel from Lips. The trio (also featuring drummer Jason) formed a year ago in West London and are currently recording their debut EP in Colchester with producer Tom Donovan. The EP – of which we got a sample tonight, via a live session – will be released in June, and Lips can next be seen live at the Crown & Treaty pub in Uxbridge this Sunday (5th) as part of the Yuck Rocks Festival.
