Russell & The Wolf Choir interview at 28:05, Meadowlark interview at 02:02:01

IMG_7005

First up tonight I was joined in the studio by Russell Evans, the titular member of Russell & The Wolf Choir. Originally performing as a solo acoustic act (including an appearance on our Creative Sessions in 2011), last year Russell recruited a band of local musicians to record what would become a series of EPs – the first of which, The Ivy Leaf Agreement, is available now, with a second to be released later in the year. You can find out more about Russell & The Wolf Choir’s mix of acoustics, rock and post-punk at www.russellandthewolfchoir.com. Click above to listen back to the interview, including a preview of two exclusive new tracks which will appear on the next EP, and chatting about Russell’s many other, completely different-sounding bands!

Meadowlark

Later on I chatted to Kate McGill from the band Meadlowlark. The Bristol-based duo (also featuring Daniel Broadley) have had a busy few months, recently seeing their single Eyes Wide surpass 27 million Spotify plays and playing a sold-out show in London. Their new EP Dual is released at the end of this month and they’ll be supporting Amber Run on their upcoming UK tour in April – find out more at https://meadowlarkofficial.tumblr.com.
