Members of Hopefield Animal Sanctuary were out in Brentwood today in support of their petition to ask Brentwood Council to reclassify their land as a leisure and recreation area, which would give the sanctuary a chance to buy it, in order to save the animals and ensure the land is not developed for housing.

Phoenix FM’s Keith Rogers spoke to manager Leanne Angliss about the petition.

The volunteers were also joined by one of the sanctuary’s Shetland ponies, Caramac!
