Friday Night Extra 28.11.14 All over the world.

Regular listener Patrick in Ingatestone provided the inspiration for the theme tonight. He had found a copy of All over the world by Fancoise Hardy so the music and odd news stories were around this theme, with a few diversions. We had stories from China, where a shop in Beijing has banned Chinese customers and a millionaire who said he earned more money than he knew what to do with, so had completely rebuilt the community in which he was born and was funding free meals for the elderly. We heard about a new curriculum in North Korea where all students will have to learn about their leader. There was the plane in the airport in Siberia where all the passengers got out to push as it was frozen up at -52.7C. There were also dog owners saying they no longer wanted their dogs for ridiculous reasons – for example the dog now looked different now they had seen it walk in the rain. Finally there was the South Korean who bought one of the existing 18 hats associated with, and worn by, Napoleon for 1.9m Euros.

Tonight’s playlist

I will not be with you next week as I am at the Ingatestone Victorian Evening.
Join me on December 12th when my studio guest is John Horner, Ingatestone and Cyprus resident, talking about the impact of the problems in the Middle East on Cyprus.
