Show one: My New Show Sounds Like This…

On the 2nd November 2014 I presented my first regular show on Phoenix FM. I decided to call it 50 Shades of Chay because one or two people have coined that in the past as a band name. Mainly due to the fact it makes people laugh.

I gave myself the easy task in the first week of just picking a host of songs which I feel would work as a collective. In time I would like to theme the show’s most weeks to give it a different edge, but as I am new to the schedule then I think it would be suitable to ease my way in gently.

So here is my first ever playlist…
.Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – The Good Rebel
.Paolo Nutini – Scream (Funk My Life Up)
.1975 – Chocolate
.Two Door Cinema Club – Come Back Home
.Klaxons – Golden Skans
.Alt-J – Breezeblocks
.Aloe Blacc – I Need A Dollar
.Disclosure feat. Eliza Doolittle – You and Me
.Basement Jaxx – Oh My Gosh
.Amy Sergeant – Racing The Tide
.Klair Quest – Faith O’Clock
.C2J – Going Nowhere
.Black Keys – Lonely Boy
.Peace – Wraith
.Palma Violets – Best of Friends
.Villagers – Nothing Arrived
.First Aid Kit – Emmylou
.Hanna-Barbara – Tra La La (Banana Splits theme song)
.Finding Miranda – Every Bit of Abuse
.The Libertines – The Boy Looked At Johnny
.The Maccabees – Glimmer
.Reverend and the Makers – Heavyweight Champion of the World
.Beady Eye – Beatles and Stones
.Fightstar – A City On Fire
.Foo Fighters – Dear Rosemary
.Coldplay – Charlie Brown
.Chvrches – Recover
.King Blues – I Got Love
.Stornoway – The Great Procrastinator
.The Fratellis – Chelsea Dagger

I’m sure as it is soon to hit Christmas themed but I made sure this week I had a small unsigned section for peers, a small dedication to Beady Eye as they called it quits during the week and I’m keeping the cartoon theme songs going. What better than the Banana Splits, right?

I have the king of Creative studios, Dave Shalloe joining me and I’m certain he will make an interesting interview.
