First Films and Fave TV shows

facebook.com/GR80sRadioShow @Gr80sRadioShow

This week I asked:
What were your favourite TV shows?
What was the first film you saw at the cinema in the 80’s.

Fave TV shows
Michael Fairbrother was a fan of Danger Mouse,
Nathan Astbury loved the Raggy Dolls (sad sack was his favourite!), and Bananaman
Lee Marriott remembers Fraggle Rock
Stuart Kelman’s fave show was Captain Caveman
Andrea Mitchell loved Roobarb and Custard

Film
The first film Debbie Dodds ever saw at the cinema was Return of the Jedi – she said she cried because the Ewoks were so cute!
Lorraine Angel’s first film was Jurrassic Park
Christopher Emmerson and Joanne Cutler both loved Steven Spielbergs “Inner Space”
Highlander was the best film of the 80’s – so thinks Matthew Bell

Karen Appleton asks, could I give a big shout out to Dan and Beth who are admins of the Facebook group “Born in the 70’s, grew up in the 80’s & got drunk in the 90’s” – great for jogging your memory about how great (or otherwise) things were back in the 80’s

80’s News This week

1980: Elton John plays a free concert for 400,000 people in New York’s Central Park. He performs the encore in a Donald Duck costume.

1982 – Scott Fahlman posts the first documented emoticons 🙂 and 🙁 on the Carnegie Mellon University Bulletin Board System.
