What a fabulous experience – Gospel Essence singing an 80’s track LIVE! Gospel Essence are a talented group of singers who are able to create a fresh sound from diverse musical disciplines. The fusion of styles, jazz, classical, gospel, rock, soul, contemporary, African and musical theatre is enhanced by Rebecca Ammissah’s ability to ‘gospelise’ any genre.

Huge thanks to the choir for coming into the studio.

We talked 80’s toys – The Smurfs, The Glo Worm (released for babies in 1982 but banned in 2005 for being ‘unsafe’!), and Jenga which was launched a the London Toy Fair in 1983.

It’s been all about the Commonwealth Games this week so we looked back at the 1986 Games in Edinburgh where England won 144 medals!

Also 80’s TV – Emma got in touch to remind me about Rhubarb & Custard, Ivor the engine and He-man and She-Ra!

Also SWIMMING IN PYJAMA’S! Do you remember doing that? David did, he thought cycling proficiency was a bit odd too!!
