Singer `AKUA` on SUNDAY LUNCH

On this weeks show I was joined by the multi talented singer songwriter Akua Komanah

Born to Ghanaian parents, Akua grew up speaking Twi  (as in Tree, I couldnt say it either) and listening to music from Ghanaian High Life and Afro Pop artists such as Daddy Lumba and Kojo Antwi.

Akua who plays keyboards and  guitar took some time out to visit us on the Sunday Lunsh Show to chat about her music and her new EP.

Akua’s sound is a sultry blend of acoustic, rnb, pop and soul. From a young age she had a passion for music and was influenced by UK and State-side artists such as Estelle, Sade, Ashanti and Alicia Keys

Akua has been busy in the studio  writing and recording under the watchful eye of Fidel Rosales aka Funkiipapa and Chris Patrick of Rockizm Music and has just released  her debut EP entitled ‘Consume Me’. The EP features two Acoustic tracks; Consume Me and her rendition of German Whip, along with three studio produced tracks which includes the leading track Only U (produced by Funkiipapa) all of which we played during the Show
