Latitude! – 27/07/14

latitude2

Was rather nice to get back into the presenters chair at Phoenix Towers this week after being away at Latitude festival last weekend. This was the fourth year that I’d been lucky enough to attend and as always it didn’t disappoint.

Highlights were plentiful, including the heavens opening when Graham Coxon joined Damon Albarn on stage to perform Tender, Anna Calvi tearing up the 6 music stage, Dingus Khan performing to an unbelievably picked Alcove tent and hundreds outside unable to get in. There were far too many others to mention, and there was so much going on beside music, it really was a special weekend and if you’ve never attended, you really should.

Also I got to chat to some lovely people about the music they make including one of my heroes Stuart Braithwaite from Mogwai. Having loved the band for so many years I was more than a tad nervous, but he couldn’t have been more of a gent.

I’d also definitely recommend that you check out the band Horse Party https://www.facebook.com/horsepartyparty?fref=ts and there excellent debut album Cover Your Eyes.

You can listen to the interviews from Latitude below and also an interview with Southend band Whom By Fire (from Village Green Festival). And for good measure here’s a link to find out some more about them! https://www.facebook.com/whombyfire?fref=ts

See you next week!
