As it was the 4th July, I played a couple of US 80’s hits – Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi.

I asked what your favourite magazines in the 80’s were. Julie suggested Jackie, Simon in Billericay said Viz, but the winner was Smash Hits with votes from Helen, Emma and Tamsyn who commented that it was the ‘one stop shop for lyrics and all the band gossip’!

With the Wimbledon finals this weekend, we remembered John McEnroe beating Bjorn Borg to win Wimbledon in 1981, and Boris Becker won in 1985. Staying with sport, Zola Budd was disqualified in 1984 for tripping Mary Decker in the 3000 mtrs.

Victoria got in touch to say her favourite TV show was Sapphire and Steel – a quick t’interweb search found that that was the show with Joanna Lumley playing a Time saving alien!
