June 26th The Stents and Moscow 1980

@Gr80sRadioShow

I went all sporty on the show tonight remembering the 1980 Moscow Olympics and Misha the mascot.
Allan Wells won gold in the 100 metres
Steve Ovett, won Gold in the 800m
Sebastian Coe won gold in the 1500m GOLD:
Daley Thompson — Athletics, Men’s Decathlon
Duncan Goodhew — Swimming, Men’s 100 m Breaststroke

Great to hear Sarah Barnes’ first single Spacer by Sheila B Devotion, and Julie’s favourite Super Trouper from ABBA.

Dominic got in touch to say his favourite film was Ferris Buellers Day off which gave me the excuse to play the mental Love Missile F1-11 by Sigue Sigue Sputnik.

I also remembered Buster from 1988 with Phil Collins.

Featured band this week was the superb THE STENTS who gave me a cover of Teenage Kicks, find them at facebook.com/thestents.essex
