How was school for you?

IMG_0319On today’s show I was very pleased to have the chance to talk with STEPHEN DREW, who is not only the headmaster of BRENTWOOD COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, but was also the “star” of  Channel 4’s “EDUCATING ESSEX” and most recently, “MR DREW’S SCHOOL FOR BOYS”. In that most recent programme, Mr Drew and his colleagues really put themselves to the test by attempting to reform the behaviour of a group of boys, who were creating havoc in their homes and had, in many cases been excluded from a number of schools.

I was particularly interested to get MR DREW’s take on whether conditions like ADHC, NIMH and Aspergers are not just excuses for bad behaviour, which in many cases could simply be down to bad parenting and inappropriate diets. I also wanted to find out whether MR DREW had any confidence that any good he might have achieved over the course of just a few weeks would last once the the boys returned to their own environments.

You can listen again to what MR DREW told me here: –

In a lighter vain, we heard in the second hour about a man who posing as a police officer and thought it would be fun to frighten other motorists and, by Police Officer Arresting Young Manusing a blue light, pull them over. Unfortunately for him, our would be hero, stopped an unmarked police car and was himself arrested. C’est la vie!

OK. See you again tomorrow at 1. Don’t be late or it’ll be 100 lines.
