For The Love Of Bob – 25/05/14

ftlob

Picture the scene if you will fair listeners. It was a cold and blustery April evening, a Friday if I recall correctly (it was indeed Friday, just sounds better written like that). I was in the vicinity of Old Brentwoods (well, when I say vicinity I was in fact inside the building but again, sounds more poetic written that way). The occasion was the latest Phoenix Fridays event.
The moon was full in the night sky (probably, artistic license and all that), it was around 9pm and my ears were about to be filled with some of the most beautiful harmonies that I’ve ever heard at 9pm on a Friday evening. These harmonies came from three ladies who perform under the rather excellent name For The Love Of Bob.
After their set I immediately dashed over and asked if they would like to come onto the show one week and have a chat and play a few songs live on air.
Luckily they said yes (otherwise this story would’ve had a rather bleak ending).
On this very evening into the studio they very kindly popped. We had a chat about many things (including their knowledge of famous Bob’s) and they also performed three songs live which left me goosebumped, fuzzy and quite frankly speechless.
If you don’t believe me you can check out the individual songs below, the entire interview and even check out a song in the form of moving pictures!
A special thanks to Mr Matt Hines for filming and generally helping out.
