A very busy Drive home

Once again I had the honour of deputising for MIKEY PORTER on today’s show – and a very busy show it was today.

First off we had the THREE O’CLOCK THRILL and today’s 3 belters were all Motown classics. First off it was Martha Reeves and the Vandellas with “NOWHERE TO RUN”, followed swiftly by Marvin Gaye’s classic “CAN I GET A WITNESS?” and bringing up the rear it was Junior Walker and the Allstars with “ROADRUNNER”.

IMG_0312Having launched the show in style it was time to get down to business and first off I was joined by local author, CELIA PYKE who has just completed her latest book all about Ockendon and the people who lived there since the end of the First World War. The book is “VOICES of NORTH and SOUTH OCKENDON and is available from Amazon at £12.99. It’s also available on Kindle.

Listen again to all that Celia told me about this book by clicking on the link below: –

Later, hotfoot from the Chelsea Flower Show, MATTHEW MONCKTON of Upminster based Enterprise Plants arrived to outline IMG_0314his firm’s philosophy and their involvement and hopes for this year’s show. Listen again to what Matthew told me here: –

Mikey’s back tomorrow so I’ll see you again soon
