No wonder TV is on its deathbed

Tokyo ReverseOn today’s programme, we heard all about a 9-hour TV spectacular which aired last week in France. This wondrous programme consisted entirely of a man walking backwards through Tokyo – and yes it ran for a full 9 hours! Apparently this type of show is known as Slow TV and seemingly is all the rage on the continent. In Norway a programme featuring a 6-day ferry journey through the fjords pulled an audience comprising more than half the population. Large audiences were also attracted to programmes featuring a burning log fire and someone doing a pile of knitting. Well I suppose they can’t get to see Jeremy Kyle!

For our Essex Tale this week, Carl Merry took us to Finchingfield to hear the story of “The Three Sillies.” Listen again to the Tale by clicking on the link below: – Essex Tales 8th April

That’s me done for now, but I’ll see you again on Thursday.
