Friday Night Extra 21st March 14. Let the music do the talking.

We had no guests in the studio tonight, so we let the music do the talking, with lots of news items scattered throughout the show. We looked at a government survey of the occupations that gave people the most satisfaction. Out of 248 different jobs, Vicars and Priests came top and at number 248 were bar staff and pub landlords. We also considered that we have too much stuff in our houses that we never use and maybe it time for a spring clean and take it all to charity shops. We also delighted in the unexpected news that Kate Bush is to perform live for the first time since 1979 (unbelievable!) and the sale of the cloaks worn by Ringo and George in the film Help for over £100K by Richard Lester, film director of the film Help.
Tonight’s playlist
Booker T & MGs – Crazy – show theme
Toto – Hold the line
Canned Heat – On the road again
Pharrell Williams – Happy – for all those happy Vicars and priests
Gary Barlow – More than life
Roy Orbison – Pretty Woman – as requested by Patrick
Kate Bush – The man with the child in his eyes
Robbie Williams – Candy
Agneta Falkstoy – If I thought you’d change your mind
Cars – Drive – for the iconic car from the Somerset floods sold on ebay for £101k
Elton John – Song for Guy
Crusaders – Streetlife
Bruno Mars – When I was your man – requested by Patrick
Beatles – Help
Fleetwood Mac – Albatross
Susan Boyle – Up to the mountain
Alison Krauss – Empty hearts
Diana Krall – Folks who live on the hill
Shakatak – Easier said then done – Requested by Rene
Peter Cincotti – Up on the roof – for Gary who loves this track
Caro Emerald – One day – for Brad who was playing some Caro in his show
