Friday Night Extra 7.2.14 with guest Keith Brown.

Keith came into the studio tonight and talked with us about a number of interesting topics. He had recently returned from a trip to Israel and talked about the impression the many visits to Biblical and historical sights had made upon him. We then chatted about his involvement with Essex Cricket Club and their support for a number of cricketing charities, including one for disabled players. We also heard about the charity Cricket without Boundaries and their work in Africa. This is the charity that the toys collection at Christmas at Ingatestone church takes to distribute. Keith then surprised me by talking about his involvement in the late 60s early 70s with the movement lobbying to change the law to make commercial radio legal in the U.K. He had even spoken at a large public meeting in Trafalgar Square. If it had not been for people like Keith there would be no Phoenix98FM or other commercial stations in the UK. So well done Keith! He also brought in four tracks that added to our music mix tonight.
Booker T & MGs – Crazy – show theme
Zombies – This will be our year
Pharrell Williams – Happy
John Wilson Orchestra – Singing in the rain – chosen by Keith

Will Young – Beyond the sea – chosen by Keith

Empty chairs , empty tables – from Les Misarables – chosen by Keith

Cliff Richard – Power to all our friends – for Rita who had met Cliff in church in Portugal

Ray Conniff – New York, New York – chosen by Keith as he used to regularly work in the Big Apple

Corrs – Radio – for Keith, thanking him in his role in their being commercial radio in the U.K.

Bob Dylan – Tangled up in blue – requested by Michael

Michael Andrews ft. Gary Jules – Wild world – requested as a one hit wonder byPatrick

Peter Sarstedt – Where do you go to my lovely- for Alan with an according player on Feelgood Saturday

Marvin Gaye – Heard it through the grapevine – with the news his passport had been found in a 50 cents album and valued on the U.S. version of Antiques Roadshow at $12,000

Paul Simon – The after life.
