Friday Night Extra 24.1.14 with guests Phill and Sam Poston

IMG_0565

Phill Poston from Ingatestone Parish Council and Sam Poston from the Ingatestone Youth Council joined me in the studio tonight. Phill talked about how he became involved with the Parish Council through lobbying on behalf of a group of young people wanting a skate park. After success he was encouraged to join the parish council, a role he obviously enjoys. Sam Poston has been involved with the Youth Council since it began. They have organised a number of community initiatives. Most notably they raised the funds to pay for the Christmas Trees that lined Ingatestone High Street last Christmas. Sam talked about the activities they undertook to raise the money and the satisfaction in seeing the trees when they were lit up. In the second hour we had some extra-ordinary news stories from the week, including a wedding couple who had portraits made of each other by a pizza firm, two men arrested after they told police officers that a crashed car was driven by their dog and an inventor in New York who has created a device for turning paper airplanes into drones that can be manoeuvred. We had lots of comments and conversation in the chatroom during both hours.
