A bit of a wash out

Last week we heard all about an 11-year old American girl who got stuck in a washing machine whilst playing hide and seek, but now comes news of an Australian man who thought he could surprise his girl friend when she returned home last Saturday afternoon. So he climbed naked into the top loading machine to await her return home.

Man in washing machineInstead of leaping starkers from the machine with a cry of “Surprise”! his girlfriend was greeted by a few muffled grunts and groans from the innards of the machine where he had become totally wedged. It took the combined efforts of the police, firefighters, paramedics and even a local search and rescue squad more than 20 minutes to free the man who had to be totality greased up.

Later we heard about someone who got his car stuck after he parked it in a car park which was demolished whilst Car Park demolished round carthe car was still there. The motorist is trying to build a wooden ramp as a temporary structure to drive the car down from its ledge, which is two metres above the rest of the street. It is unclear what the parking fee will amount to!

We also enjoyed another ESSEX TALE from Carl Merry. Today’s story concerned a pirate from Fingeringhoe, known locally as “Pegleg Jake” who it appears suffered an unusual death after swallowing an acorn. To listen to the story again, just click on the following link: – Essex Tales 14th January

Right see you next week for more of the same.
