A tram journey with a difference and an ESSEX TALE

Llama on a bus

On today’s show we heard about a group of French teenagers, a bit worse for wear, who abducted a llama from a circus and took it on a tour of Bordeaux, the wine capital of France, by tram! They had set their hearts on making off with a zebra but that animal proved to be a reluctant partner and even the staff at the circus, where the animals were performing had difficulty in re-capturing the zebra.

Carl Merry

In the second hour of the show we welcomed CARL MERRY, the TALESPINNER from Wickford who joined us for the first of a new series of ESSEX TALES. The first story was a rather sad poignant love story set on Canvey Island. The story may have been the basis of Dicken’s character, MISS HAVERSHAM from his 1861 novel, GREAT EXPECTATIONS.

Listen to Carl’s story again here: – Essex Tales 5th November

Right I’ll see you again next week.
