Curveballs 2nd October 2013 (with Optional Rubber Duck and Longy)

Another busy Curveballs started with our most enigmatic guest to date, singer-songwriter Longy (above with trumpeter Adam AKA Feralchild), who was in the middle of a very busy week, having released his debut EP Bringing It All Back Home to You Now at the start of the week, and finished the week with live sets at Tigerlily in Leigh-on-sea and Brentwood’s Essex Arms. Longy can next be seen live at Aces & Eights in London on October 10th with many more live dates to come this month – find the full list at www.whoislongy.com as well as his Facebook and Twitter pages.

After that it was the turn of Maidstone’s Optional Rubber Duck (l-r Karl, Broom, James, Darren). Formed originally in 2011, the pop-punk foursome have two EPs currently available from their Bandcamp page, and will begin work on their debut album very shortly. They can also be found on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.  As we found out, their influences incorporate both the ‘pop’ and ‘punk’ of their genre, and are among the more random we’ve had recently!  See them playing live in the studio below:
