On today’s Bygones feature we learnt about some of he rumours of what Henry VIII might have got up to during his visits to Blackmore but of that more later!

In the first hour of today’s show we heard all about a burlesque dancer who’s raunchy routine raised the temperature to new levels after her nipple tassels caught fire with the result that the building she was performing in had to be evacuated. The fire alarms were set off after the artist blew out her blazing tassels. Hundreds of customers at Dundee’s Abertay University were left disappointed and instead of getting hot under the collar, had to be escorted outside!

Back to Henry VIII – He’s “Gone to Jericho”, nudge nudge wink wink, was said by the royal court about King Henry VIII. This is a Phrase which early historians claimed to have been said for when the King visited Blackmore to be with his mistress Elizabeth Blount, but it is doubtful whether this actually occurred.
