This week we mainly concentrated on the Football League action as the majority of league teams started their season as soon as this week’s Between the Lines started, at 3pm.

We kept on top of all the scores in the first half, although we experienced the same issue that all other media organisations had when trying to bring the the second half updates. The results involving the local sides:-

Carlisle 1-5 Leyton Orient
Gillingham 0-1 Colchester
Fleetwood 3-1 Dag & Red
Southend United 1-0 Plymouth

As is the case this time of year, our featured cricket team, Brentwood CC, had a busy week. They won the Essex 20/20 cup last Sunday and face Norfolk side Horsford in the regional final next week. Things didn’t go as well for the side in the Essex League this weekend, as they lost to last year’s champions, Wanstead, by 1 wicket in a long match.
Brentwood 163 all out.
Wanstead were 164 for 9.
