Does charity begin at home or the charity bin become your home?

It’s another Tuesday, and hey the sun is shining brightly.

Woman in charity binOn today’s ONE-2-THREE Show we enjoyed some great music and the wonderful story of the American charity worker who gave her all to the cause, by throwing herself into the charity collection bin. To be fair she was only trying to retrieve her bracelet when she ventured just that little bit too far. After two hours doing her best to climb out, she realised that there was no escape and so was forced to summon help. What would we do without mobile phones eh? Well in her case she might have had a long wait until someone had finally come to empty the bin!

In the second hour of today’s show, we returned to a time when mobile phones certainly did Billericay High Streetnot exist, as Frances Clamp took a nostalgic walk down the Billericay High Street of the 1950’s – a very different place than it appears today.
