Sea of music for Only You

If last week’s Phoenix FM Creative session wasn’t enough live Music, then this week we had a little more- in the shape of Modovar. The guys were in the studio and performed two tracks from their debut album- Sea of Unspoken Words, and a bonus song for us….Yazoo’s Only You.

Glen and Chris – MODOVAR

The edited version of the whole show is here, including the FULL chat with Modovar and those live tracks + more things and stuff Saturday Breakfast Show – RERUN

My music pick for this week;

Thu 25 Apr Frank Turner – The Forum, London
Frank Turner is a musician born in Bahrain who has toured the UK extensively and started solo acoustic shows prior to the demise of his former band, Million Dead.

Thu 25 Apr Gaz Coombes – The Garage, London
A night of live music from Gaz Coombes- from the former Supergrass front man

Sun 28 Apr Noah and The Whale – Palace Theatre, London
Noah and the Whale are from Twickenham and formed in 2006. The band consists of Charlie Fink, Tom Hobden, Matt Owens, Fred Abbott, and Michael Petulla

Mon 29 Apr Chvrches – Village Underground, London
Chvrches are Iain Cook, Martin Doherty and Lauren Mayberry – three distinct individuals bearing three distinct personalities on a consummate whole. Combining indie sensibilities and aesthetics with barbed pop hooks and an unhealthy obsession with Prince, Chvrches take elements of classic electronica, hip hop and post-punk, and yet sound like none of the above.

My Comedy show picks for this week……

Jimeoin — “What?!” – 25th Apr 2013 • Bloomsbury Theatre
The acclaimed Irish comic Jimeoin has recently been seen on “Live at the Apollo”, “Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow” and the “Royal Variety Performance”. Now you can see him when he brings his stand-up show to London

Jimmy Carr — “Gagging Order” – 26th – 27th Apr 2013 • Hammersmith Apollo
Jimmy Carr’s back on the road with a brand-new stage show — “Gagging Order”. Expect plenty of bare-knuckle gags as he brings his quick-fire wit to the Hammersmith Apollo.
