Just you, me and the music tonight. Requests tonight for tracks by the Three Degrees, Abba and George Benson. So the listeners were in a 70s frame of mind. We had a wide range of odd news stories tonight. They included a Mexican Priest who sprays his congregation with holy water from a water gun and a church selling cds of silence recorded in the building. There was also a story about a homeless man in the USA who had a diamond ring dropped into his tin. The owner returned next day and he gave it back to her. The local media featured the story and raised £95,000 for the man. We also heard about Russian troops marching to the theme tune of Spong Bob Square Pants and the Air New Zealand Pilot who went to sleep twice whilst flying the plane across the Atlantic. You really could not make it up. Artists featured tonight included James Arthur, Adele, Enya, Toto, Mason Williams, Beach Boys, Ramsey Lewis, Squeeze, Eva Cassidy, Edwin Starr, Elton John, Darts, Freda Payne, Cliff Richard and the Shadows and others. I played Man of Action by Les Read and asked the Radio Station that it was the theme of in 70s. Eventually we got Radio North Sea International. I also asked people to identify the theme tune from a 60s tv show that went with a tortoise that had been shut in a room for over thirty years. Eventually we came up with The Prisoner. The time appeared to go very quickly tonight in the studio. I hope everyone enjoyed the show. I will see you next week. Why not leave a request below?
