Well the world didn’t end yesterday but I did wonder today if I should have given serious consideration to building an ark! It might be almost Christmas but the weather is anything but.

Undaunted being the last weekend ahead of the big day, I thought it was right to wheel out a good number of Christmas songs. Many of these were old favourites but one was a brand new song recorded by a band formed just for this song – CHRISTMAS TIME IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR. And what a good song it was! The band concerned were THE HOUND DOGS, consisting of Matt Broadbent from “The Fiftyfours” plus Rob Broadbent, Toby Thacker, Gregg Hummell and Jamie Simpson all from “The Felonie”. The Felonie was one of the bands who featured in the CREATIVE SESSIONS staged by Phoenix FM last May. And the connections with Phoenix don’t end there as Jamie Simpson is the son of Bob Simpson your host on the Sunday Replay.

On top of the feast of music, but keeping to the festive mood, Frances Clamp dropped by to tell us all about how turkeys used to make their way from the farm in Brentwood to the market in Romford.
