Late Night Extra Friday 2nd of November 2012

No guests tonight in the studio or on the phone. Phyl e-mailed in and suggested I played ‘Are you lonesome tonight?’

Good to hear from Susan and Ian who had filled their shoe-box after listening to the show last week. They also explored the music of Kenny G after I ended with a track from him last week. So I played them another tonight. Michael wanted to hear from Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons and I wondered if everyone had seen Jersey Boys? It is a great show if you remember the music. For the first time we heard from the Angeli family who loved the wide mix of music. Looking forward to the fireworks display at Ingatestone Infants School on Sunday they requested Fireworks by Katy Perry. We had lots of unusual news stories tonight, including a new 12,000 mile regular bus service from Birmingham to Pakistan. This prompted Magic bus by the Who. We also heard how most lottery millionaire give up work, buy a new house and go on holiday to the USA. We also heard the most popular new car for them is an Audi, 39% take up voluntary charity work, many of then make family members and friends millionaires and 10% buy a caravan! The wide music mix tonight included Marvin Gaye, Dolly Parton, Jamie Cullum, Mark Antionne, Booker T Jones, Sashal Studios Orchestra, Hugh Laurie, Alison Kraus, Buffalo Springfield, Lorrie Morgan, Joni Mitchel, Elvis Presley and others.
