In the penultimate show of the top hits of the last 5 decades (only 1960 to go next week now) we travelled back to 2009 –

1 Lady Gaga –  “Poker Face” climbed to number one, giving Gaga her second consecutive British number one single.
2 The Black Eyed Peas – “I Gotta Feeling” produced by the French DJ David Guetta

3 Lady Gaga featuring Colby O’Donis – “Just Dance” released as the lead single from Gaga’s debut studio album The Fame.

4 Cheryl Cole – “Fight for This Love” Following her first performance of the song on The X Factor it topped charts in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
5 Joe McElderry X Factor winnner – “The Climb”

6 La Roux – “In for the Kill” nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2011 Grammy Awards

7 The Black Eyed Peas –  “Boom Boom Pow”

8 Rage Against the Machine –  “Killing in the Name”  Rage Against the Machine takes the Christmas number one slot in the United Kingdom with “Killing in the Name”, after a massive Facebook campaign.
9 Alexandra Burke featuring Flo Rida – “Bad Boys” debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart, and becoming Burke’s second consecutive chart-topper, selling over 187,000 copies in its first week, a total of 710,000 copies to date.
10 The Black Eyed Peas – “Meet Me Halfway” released as the third promotional single from their fifth studio album The E.N.D. It was later released as the album’s third single. On November 15, 2009, the single went straight to number one in the United Kingdom
