A mercifully sunny, if somewhat cool day, brightened up by my guest, PHILIPPA BARR who popped in to tell us about her experiences gained from the world of journalism which ultimately lead her to establish her own PR company in Brentwood, SunSign Communications Ltd.
Philippa has certainly seen life; reporting on a local “driving” incident, she was identified as the defendant, not content with treading on the Duke of Edinburgh, Philippa went on to have a “run in” with the Queen Mother who returned the compliment! Philippa has interviewed some wonderful characters including a financial adviser who together with his family spent their spare time living as Romans, wearing togas, speaking to one another in Latin and even re-creating Roman food including such delicacies as pig’s testicles – very nice with chips.
Philippa went on to outline the many services offered by her company, which might include internal communications, from establishing in-house magazines to more general communications aimed at keeping staff “in the loop”, external communications which could be anything from one-off press releases to advertising literature and brochures. Other services include website design and proof reading.
