Broncos Stoop To Conquer

As regular listeners to Between The Lines, and those that log onto live football updates, will probably know by now, the sport I actually have the greatest affinity with is rugby league.

Saturday was the last game of the London Broncos torrid yet somehow encouraging Super League season.   Hull KR were the visitors to the Twickenham Stoop to face up against a side that had won 3 out of 22 games, but then another 3 from their last 4.

Anything could happen.  And so it did in the first half, as Joe and I pontificated on:

Despite that, we still had time to chew the fat about the F1 qualifying over in Italy, too!

The second half was even more frenetic and unpredicatble as the first.  For two sides who had nothing except pride to play for it was a spellbinding spectacle, with the result in doubt right up until the final second.

The small Twickenham Stoop crowd roared their approval, making more noise than the nearby Lady Gaga concert.

Joe and I, almost breathless, articulated ours at the final whistle.

So another Super League was wrapped up for our local pro side for another season.   I will be pining for February now!
