I’m Not Your Friend, Buddy! I’m Not Your Buddy, Guy! – 29/07/12

It felt like it had been months since I was last at Phoenix Headquarters for the show (actually it had been 3 weeks due to illness and Latitude!), so I was rather itching to get back into the swing of things. I had the most amazing time at this years Latitude Festival, a little review of which will be up on the Phoenix website shortly. The first two (of the four) interviews I conducted are presented below for your listening pleasure.
I would like to thank both Alessio and Sam from Walls and the guys from Dingus Khan for taking time out to chat to us. The interviews were great fun and there’s also some links to check out more stuff from both bands (very much recommended).
The Antlers returned this week with their new EP entitled Undersea, a four track swirling epic which has been on the 33RPM stereo continuously this week. So for that very reason there were two tracks on the playlist this week and I’ll probably play the other two on next weeks show.
I was also rather giddy this week at the prospect of a new Dinosaur Jr. album which is due to hit in September, titled I Bet The Sky. Which is previewed by the rather excellent track Watch The Corners. A new Dinosaur Jr. album is a very very good thing indeed.
A special mention also to Jenny Owen Youngs and the package I was sent for sponsoring the making of her latest album An Unwavering Band Of Light (pic below). It is rather ace as expected and goes to show that when Kickstarter campaigns work, they work brilliantly.

I’m off now to listen to another 10 hours of Mogwai to continue making the very first An Introduction To..playlist, which should be ready very shortly (more info to come soon). See you next week.
PS…The new Dingus Khan single Made A List is superb!
