A VERY SOGGY PACKED LUNCH

Well the drive into the studio today was more like a cruise down the Thames than a drive on an A road! With the car producing a bow wave for most of the journey it was certainly not the sort of day for taking a picnic into the countryside, but at least we could enjoy some great tunes in the dry.

My intended guest for the day, David Clark who was coming in to reveal some of the erstwhile secrets of the cold war era, had to “cry off” at the last moment. It’s OK the “spooks” haven’t nobbled him and he should be with us in a couple of weeks.

With NIKKI MILLS under canvas this weekend (rather her than me) I had the bonus of an extra hour to fill which was really good timing as a whole heap of brand new music arrived today.  This bonus was exploited to the full and I enjoyed playing many of the new arrivals today. Keep your ears peeled for new songs from the likes of WillIAm, Noel Gallagher and Train to name but a few.

The always reliable Frances Clamp popped in with the history of Billericay’s ISOLATION HOSPITAL. You can listen again to what she had to say right here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Bygones-10th-July.mp3|titles=Bygones 10th July]

I’m not here next week. It’s my wedding anniversary and because I want to see another one, I’m taking my wife out on a special treat. Just hope the weather is better than it was today. Unless you can join me at 11am on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday when I’ll be deputising for Michelle Ward on EAT MY LUNCH I’ll see you again on Saturday week. In the meantime do your best to keep dry.

All the best,

Scott
