Playlist for 5 July 2012

No album of the week this week, due to the ridiculous summer heat. It reached 24 degrees today. And the studio smelt of strawberries, thanks to our friends at Calcott Hall Farm Shop, much to the delight of my fellow presenters! I’m probably digressing … nice discoveries this week were Rayleigh band Such Strange Arts (who were apparently introduced on another Essex radio station as Such Strange Arse), noisy Norwegian shoegazers Snøskred (pronounced snerss-ked. The “r” is silent, apparently, and the word means “avalanche”) and Indonesian alt/indie rockers Protocol Afro. Too many good bands, not enough time …

Tonight’s playlist:

Thin White Dude – Phone-In
Bis – Action And Drama
Bleech – Adrenalin Junkie
Codeine Velvet Club – I Am The Resurrection
Garbage – Big Bright World
Blur – Under The Westway
