I was joined in the studio by Sandy Trott from Young at Heart. Young at Heart is a social and activity club for anyone over 60 in the community. The club is open to all, including people with dementia or learning disabilities. The club is self funding and run by the members.

The club is health based and aims to promote wellbeing by offering regular stimulating activities such as exercise to music, dancing, quizzes, arts and crafts and an opportunity to socialise. The club is free to join and charges a weekly session fee of  £5.00 for members (L2A card holders will receive a 50% discount).  We welcome everyone to the club regardless of their disability and we are also able to take younger people with dementia or learning disabilities.  The club is self-funding and run by the members.
COME ALONG TO A MEET & GREET WITH RT HON ERIC PICKLES & THE MAYOR OF BRENTWOOD PLUS LIVE MUSIC… FRIDAY 29TH JUNE 2012 AT 1.45 AT ST GEORGES CHURCH HALL, ONGAR ROAD, BRENTWOOD, ESSEX.

The Rt. Hon Eric Pickles, the local MP and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government will be attending between 2.00 p.m and 2.15 p.m. (unfortunately he cannot stay longer as he has a full surgery that day).    The Mayor of Brentwood will also be in attendance for the afternoon.   We have also invited some of our entertainers and activity providers along to show people what we do.  We will put on a demonstration of our exercise classes and have refreshments available.
