Playlist for 14 June 2012 (AOTW: Bleech – Nude)

One of my favouritist albums in a long time is the debut offering from Bleech – Nude.

I’m a big fan of the 90s-female-fronted-indie-band thing and this lot have it in buckets and spades.

Breaking with tradition too – I played out FOUR songs from the album, not the usual three. It WAS worth it.

I also played out my interviews with Jim Bob and Midway Still which I took last Friday evening at Esquire’s in Bedford, where I caught them both live with the equally wonderful S*M*A*S*H.

And managed to dig out an oldie from co.uk – a band from Northern Ireland who were recording stuff around the turn of the century. Has there ever been a band harder to Google?

Tonight’s playlist:
Gordon Withers – Whirring
Bleech – Adrenalin Junkie
Garbage – Battle In Me
Laetitia Sadier – Find Me The Pulse Of The Universe
Bury Me A Lion – Year Of The Lion
CSS – City Grrrl
Midway Still – This Is How It Ends
co.uk – Big Green Bath
Ash – Girl From Mars
Public Service Broadcasting – Dig For Victory
Long Blondes – Giddy Stratospheres
Bleech – Dancing Without You
Carter USM – Anytime Anyplace Anywhere
Pre New – Cathedral City Comedown
Vile Electrodes – Proximity
Bleech – I Wanna Be Me
We Are Scientists – Goal! England
Finger – In A Fragment Of Time
alt-J – Tessellate
Wind-Up Birds – Cross Country
Bleech – The Worthing Song
Majeur – She Was Gone (835 remix)
