At one point, only hippies and rockers went to festivals – Then someone noticed Kate Moss in the crowd at Glastonbury, and suddenly EVERYONE wanted to get involved. These days there are more festivals in the UK than ever before and luckily for us, they are much cleaner, tidier and more glam – with one-day events, or B&B deals and luxury accommodation – so you won’t have to get mud in your sandwiches.

Obvious choices would be one pair of dark denim wash shorts and a more fitted tailored pair of chino shorts. Both of these styles are on trend and are very versatile

Do’s and Dont’s

DO have your mobile fully charged before you go. No battery + three days in a field = total communication meltdown; not fun when you can’t find your friends.

DO have an easy to remember meeting point. Arrange with your friends to meet there after half an hour if you can’t get hold of each other.

DO drink plenty of water. Serious dehydration is the ultimate party pooper.

DO carry toilet roll, wet wipes or a hand sanitiser to cope with the general unpleasantness there can be with the toilet situation.

DON’T bring valuables. If you can live without items for a couple of days, don’t bring them.

DON’T pitch your tent near the toilets. What smells ok when you rock up will most certainly reek by the time you’re ready to leave.

DON’T forget where you pitched your tent. It’s another school girl error but what looks obvious in sober sunlight is not so clear in maybe drunken darkness.

DON’T get sun burned. Wear sun protection.
