Fundraising Pupils, Cooking Real Food with Katherine Garner & more.

This weeks features:

Health Features included information and advice regarding muscle cramps and also covered a current piece of news that a fast chain restaurant/take-away is due to launch a children’s beverage containing 12 spoonfuls of sugar. They claim it counts towards children’s 5 a day – shouldn’t children be taught to eat real food and fruit?!

Lots of local news to bring to light from our local newspapers and also local charity events coming up that have been handed into phoenix. We have also had guests in the studio to speak about these occasions.

Pupils from St Martin’s School Visit:

On Tuesday I was surprised to be joined by so many girls from St Martin’s School. They are fundraising for a charity called Wings Of Hope that builds schools in Asia and African countries to try and empower people to overcome poverty through education. They girls told me all about what their fundraising campaign involves and all the different methods of getting the message out there. You can follow them on Twitter: @IgniteWOHAA or find them on Facebook page: Team Ignite WOHAA

Katherine Garner from Mustard Seed:

Mustard Seed offers cooking courses, supper clubs and catering services in Ongar. Katherine and I discussed cooking real food, from scratch and getting good nutrients into children’s bodies. It seems that many people have lost a passion for cooking and many people don’t actually know how to make processed foods for themselves from scratch. This is undoubtedly contributing to an unhealthier nation. Listen to our discussion. Taking care of home owners:

Danny Davis from the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering joined me in the studio to share advice on selecting plumbing a heating engineers. Its important that we don’t just select anyone as gas appliances are particularly dangerous and dodgy plumbing can do a lot of damage to our homes.
