JAZZ AT LUNCHTIME

Hello again.

I was thrilled today,  to welcome back JAZZ BLAACK, who had been my very first guest on the PACKED LUNCH SHOW, way back in October. She may be a mere 17 years old but Jazz already has a remarkable list of achievents to her credit.  She has been one of the artists who have supported the likes of LEMAR, OLLY MURRS, DIVERSITY, CHICO and BLAZIN’ SQUAD and has recently performed in front of an audience of 10,000 in Birmingham. The Americans, in particular have fallen in love with her recording style and following a request from the USA, Jazz has just recorded I JUST WANNA BE ME, a song that has already been played quite a few times on PHOENIX FM.

Apart from working hard for her A levels in History, English and Law, Jazz is also working hard on writing songs for a new album and has a number of public appearances booked for later in the year, the nearest to us being at the Colchester Carnival on 30th June.

My interview with Jazz, together with 3 of her songs can be heard again here: -[audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Jazz-Blaack-Interview.mp3|titles=Jazz Blaack Interview]

Frances Clamp’s subject for today’s BYGONES feature was CHARLES BELLI, a truly remarkable man who served as the vicar for South Weald, for an amazing 53 years. An amazingly generous man, he finally retired at the age of 85 and spent the final 10 years of his life in Billericay. This feature can be heard again here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Bygones-17th-April.mp3|titles=Bygones 17th April]

I hope you can join me again next Saturday when Fred Good will be talking all about the BILLERICAY NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH and Frances Clamp will be providing some historical information all about THE RITZ CINEMA in Billericay. Maybe you met your future husband or wife on the back row of that establishment before it was converted into a Bingo Hall prior to its eventual demolition in 1991.

Hope to see you then, meantime have a good week.

All the best,

Scott
