Which band is reforming for the Diamond Jubilee?

Reuniting?
There are some big events happening this summer, not only are the usual festivals on but it’s also The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and of course the Olympics, but a big event happening in the world of music is the reuniting of popular 90’s band S Club 7!
Hannah, Jo, Rachel, Tina, Jon Bradley and Paul formed in 1997 and then spilt in 2003. When they were together before they managed to get four UK number one singles, a number one album and over 17 million record sales worldwide, they also starred in their own TV programme and towards the end of their time together had their own film called Seeing double.

Even though in the past the band have always turned down the offer of being a band again, after the success of Steps recently getting back together S club 7 has decided to join them as an insider explains “The guys have been inundated with approaches and offers over the past three years, but always said no,”

“But following a series of talks and meetings, they decided to go for it. What with the Olympics coming up and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert, there’s a real British feel-good factor at the moment.”
“The band figured it was a case of now or never. And if the gigs go well there is the option to release a new album, plus a Greatest Hits.

“Everyone is really excited – and frantically getting back in shape”.

X Factor
The next series of X Factor hasn’t even started yet, but there has been lots of talk about it already! Talk of who will be on the judging panel has been circulating this week with producer and head judge Simon Cowell being asked about his friendship with ex judge Cheryl Cole.
We all know that he booted her off the panel for the American version of the show but since then Cole sent Simon a birthday message this year of a aeroplane pulling along a banner which said ‘Simon Cowell is 52 today. Ha ha ha. Love Cheryl’.

Talking about the friendship Simon has said ” we text occasionally. “I mean she’s not on the phone every night anymore, but she broke the ice when she sent me that funny birthday message. I thought it was hilarious. I loved her for it.”

However even though she has been asked by simon to return to the show a soruce has explained that  “shetold him in no uncertain terms there wasn’t enough money in the world. She’s still very hurt over the way she was treated by Simon in LA.”

There has been rumours that Another person which has been speculated to not return to the show is past judge Kelly Rowland. However these rumours have also been denied by producers but Gary, Louis and even Tulisa are confirmed to return to their seats. Simon has said despite of the tapes of Tulisa recently being leaked, he still wants her back.

Men in Black 3

The week artist of the theme tune has been announced.

It is called ‘Back in Time’ and will be sung by none other than Pitbull. He has written the song specifically for the film and will be released as a download in the UK on the 6th of May. The film itself, Men in Black 3, will be in cinemas from 25th May.
Pitbull has talked about his involvement with the film by saying “It’s an incredible honour to be a part of such an amazing franchise as Men in Black and I have so much respect for Will Smith, especially with our similar musical backgrounds,”.

“Wanting to keep the music fun yet modern, we used the slogan of the movie and flipped it back into the song that ‘in order to understand the future, you have to go back in time’.”

Men in Black 3 will be in cinemas from May 25th.

Song Writing

It is often that artists write song for other artists or pitch already written songs for other to use, and this may be good news for Usher, as Oritsé Williams, 1 quarter of JLS has written a song especially for him as he explained saying “I write songs and try song writing for other people as much as possible.
“I keep writing and writing. I pitched a song for Usher the other day and haven’t heard anything back yet, but I wrote a song for Jedward – their last single ‘Wow Oh Wow’.”

He continued: “It wasn’t widely known. I didn’t initially write the song for them, but when they were looking for songs, I thought it would be perfect.

“Louis Walsh called me up and said, ‘I heard you wrote this song. Can I use it for Jedward?’ and I said, ‘Why not? Go for it’.”

He also mentioned that he would “love to write with Ne-yo, or Bruno Mars and also Gary Barlow.”
