Rocking The Plastic Like A Man From The Casket – 24/01/12

On tonight’s show we answered the burning question that had plagued mankind for at least 2 weeks, what was Art Garfunkel reading when you were born?. Well you can answer this question yourself by visiting the following site https://www.artgarfunkel.com , which has a quite frankly staggering list of every single book he as read since 1968!
Let’s not forget we also had some great music as well for you including a few new tracks including 2 from the rather gorgeous new British Sea Power EP, Grimes, Islet, Sharon Van Etten, and a superb unreleased track from Juliana Barwick.
Our featured album this week was Beck’s Odelay, there was a Beck binge at the weekend and I was reminded of just how brilliant this album is. For our 2 Bands 1 Song this week there was only one cover (of Stereolabs Peng 33 track), but as it was a stunning interpretation by Iron & Wine that more than makes up for it!
And to finish off this feast of music we took at look at some of the festival line-ups that have been announced so far, with Downloads and Field Days bills looking particulary excellent and even more finally, a rich dessert of Krautrock from Amon Duul II. See you next week!
PS. Spotify list featuring some of the music below.
