We welcomed Deb Danahay into the Phoenix studios tonight – Deb is the organiser of BAS II, a celebration of Basildon’s electronic music scene from the 80s up to the present day.
The event is taking place on 4 and 5 May this year at various locations in Basildon, with a memorabilia display and plenty of live music, including headliners Blancmange (exclusively announced tonight!), Speak and Spell, Tenek, Marlow, Modovar, Shiny Darkness, Basic, Electric Kill Machine, Weirdgear, Naked Lunch, City 19, Lesley Mary Seagar and Spacebuoy, along with DJs Dan Martyr Dan, Dave Charles and The Electricity Club’s Chi Ming Lai and Steve Gray.
Tickets are just about to go on sale – keep an eye on the Bas II Facebook page for the latest news.
We played a ton of music from most of the bands featuring over the weekend, along with a good rambling chat about the old days. If you missed the show you can hear it again by clicking here.
