IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A QUIET BANK HOLIDAY DRIVE HOME

Bank Holiday Tuesday – the roads should have been quiet, but they weren’t!

A 6 vehicle accident on the southbound M11 caused serious problems for those trying to beat the queues and get home after the Christmas break. And then to top it all the roadworks on the M25 meant that it was taking 45 minutes to get from the A12 to the QE2 Bridge. And this was just for starters!

Anyway as I was sitting in for GABBY CLARKE, I decided to play a selection of the fabulous songs which made it to PHOENIX FM’s much coveted “A” list during 2011. Clearly there were just too many to play them all so I chose these: –

From January 2011

Jilted Lovers And Broken Hearts – Brandon Flowers

Jump Into The Fog – The Wombats

From February 2011

The City – Patrick Wolf

Bright Lights Bigger City – Cee Lo Green

From April 2011

Amarillo – Gorillaz

Open Arms – Elbow

From April/May 2011

Boomerang – Plain White T’s

Set Fire To The Rain – Adele

From June 2011

Human Again – Young Knives

Secret Love – Stevie Nicks

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall – Coldplay

House – Patrick Wolff

If you were unlucky enough to have been stuck in all that traffic, or even if you were cocooned snugly at home, I hope you enjoyed the selections we played.

I hope you had a great Christmas and I look forward to your company on my own programme at noon on Saturday.

‘Bye for now!
