Today I was very fortunate to be joined by local author JIM REEVE.  Now Jim has written a couple of books relating to the history of Wickford and Basildon and is currently working on another book – BASILDON PAST and PRESENT. However today we were looking at his book relating his experiences as a child evacuee during the Blitz during the last war.

Although his book is styled as  A SCHOOLBOY’S WAR IN CORNWALL, we learnt that in fact during the latter years of the war he was actually living in Rawreth.
