Hello. It’s Silly O’Clock …

I have made the switch from afternoon Drive to the Breakfast Show recently. I love the mornings, its the best time of day. Its the time of day when your mind is clear before it gets clogged up with all the daily going on’s in life. Not gonna lie to you, its been a struggle recently, baby Oli is still on the couple of feeds a night, sometimes just waking up to kick his feet, coo a little, do a burp, smile then fall asleep, all this happening at stupid o clock in the morning. He is only little so I forgive him, he will learn.

I digress

Guest in the studio this week and I was joined by Rob MaGowan who is Chairman of Save Brentwood Skate Park and keen BMXer Jake Doran to talk about efforts to raise money to re-vamp the current Skate Park at King Georges Park, which includes a Jam on the 25th September from 11am at Brentwood Skatepark. On the day there will be a BMX, skate, scooter and inline jam run format with prizes for the top 3 places, best trick, best style and best fall!!! A hop contest and hippie jump contest and a huge sticker throw. It will also include music, food & drink. For more information check out the Brentwood Skatepark Association on Facebook and hear what Rob & Jake had to say on air below –

My track of the week this week was the brand new single from Florence & The Machine ‘What The Water Gave Me.’ Flo has been busy at work finishing up her second album and the great news is it has been completed ahead of schedule meaning they can release the record a week earlier! The album will now be available from October 31 in the UK. What the Water Gave Me is a hefty new song; beautiful in it boldness, an epic number that will only make us anticipate her next album even more. Check out the video below:
